Last year, a friend of mine down in Maryland went to
Ghana and South Africa, and she picked me up a wine from
Zimbabwe. Last night, I finally opened the bottle to see
what it was like.
To say the least, this wine is too tannic, too full of
sediment (it feels of the smallest grittyness on your
tongue), and the taste is what I term 'hollow.'
The wine is composed of a grape called Ruby Cabernet,
which is known for it's ability to deal with drought, and
Cabernet Franc.
Perhaps I got a bad bottle, but I don't see this wine as
something that would be a winner.
